In the video ‘If i were you - Las Vegas, New York, Blackpool’ I follow three Robert de Niro impersonators.
The issue of duplication resumes in the three cities where the impersonators live. Blackpool can be seen as a look-alike in its similarity to Las Vegas, whereas in Las Vegas the video shows only the replica of a Manhattan Skyline. Furthermore one De Niro impersonator haunts some of the original film locations in New York City, where “Taxi Driver” was originally filmed.
The video is a loop installation; it ends with Blackpool and starts again with Las Vegas, and goes on. The viewer remains in a circle of an endless repetition of the copy.
