Every year all German Indian Hobby clubs meet in the Thueringer forest. I approach the subject of Hobby Indianism as an outsider, with curiosity, and non-obtrusive intent. In the video "Indianweek" I appear as a protagonist wearing a cowboy costume. During the gathering time of thousand of Hobby Indians on a large tipi camp you can see the protagonist sneaking and „shooting“ photographs with a fixed video camera position. As each shot is taken you hear the trigger of the handheld photo camera and the video fades in to the still image, which has just been shot, allowing the viewer to view what is being observed. You are seeing the watcher observing, and seeing at the same time what he is watching. Using a tele objective lens the protagonist never crosses the line of trespasser or invader.
