video

The work Nomansland, which title is taken from the movie “no man’s land” (2002) from Denis Tanvovic', consists of a five minute video and two photographs. The project was realized in the Croatian National Park, Paklenica. Its landscapes not only served as a tourist destination, but also as film sets for Karl May movies during the years of 1960 the former Yugoslavia.

In June 2004 I took for my safety a guide who leaded me to the mountains of the Tulove Grede. The area is still mine suspected as a result of the Yugoslavian civil war. The two photographies mark the beginning and the end of the walk. In the video my documentary recordings of the landscape overlap with landscape sequences from the original Karl May movies ( Winnetou I and III ).
